Madrelingua Italian courses in Italy offers high quality preparation for students wishing to study for a CILS or CELI exam in Bologna and so obtain certification of their level in the Italian language. We only use teachers who have had significant previous experience preparing students for the CELI and CILS exams, and so are able to offer our students the best possible preparation.
There are two main types of Italian language exam available, the main difference being that they are organised and run by different universities.
CILS ITALIAN EXAMS
The Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS) is organised by the University of Siena for Foreigners and is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This exam is offered at four different levels, each consisting of tests of listening,reading,writing, speaking, and grammar/vocabulary. You must pass each section of the exam to be awarded the certificate!CELI ITALIAN EXAMS
The CELI exams are organised by the the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and are available in five levels. CELI certificates are recognised by the Italian Ministries of Education and of Foreign Affairs and by many employers and organisations throughout the world. The CELI levels correspond to the Council of Europe framework (used at Madrelingua to organise our levels) as follows:
You can do the exams at fixed times during the year (ask us for details) and must pay a fee to the organisation offering the exam. This fee is not included in the cost of your course.
Most students who wish to sit one of the CILS or CELI Italian exams choose to follow a standard Italian course at an appropriate level, plus individual lessons to focus on the specific skills needed for the exams. You will probably need to buy a suitable book, to aid you in your preparation for the CELI or CILS exam at your level.
