EVENING ITALIAN COURSES (for students and others!)

For students on exchange programmes at Bologna University, au-pairs, and others who cannot attend classes during the day, we offer evening classes, twice a week, for four weeks. If you enjoy the class and find it useful, you can then renew for a further 4 weeks if you wish.

Students on evening classes are welcome to participate in the social programme organised for our "full-time" students - a great way to meet new people in Bologna, while practising your Italian. The cost of the course also includes free Internet access at any time during school opening hours (normally 09.00 to 21.00 + Saturday morning), as well as use of our library and DVD library - we have hundreds of English and Italian DVDS for you to borrow!

Our Evening Italian language courses in Bologna consist of two 3-hour lessons a week, making a total of six hours of Italian lessons a week (NOT 6 lessons of 50 or 55 minutes like other Bologna Italian language schools!) for four weeks giving a total of 24 hours of study, plus homework, plus the FREE social programme.

Classes

Classes are held in the evenings, normally from 18:00 to 21:00. On arrival students are tested to find out their level, then placed in a suitable class with other students at a similar level. Classes have a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 10. In addition, there is a teacher available for two hours each afternoon to help you with your homework, if you choose to do it in the school (the supervised homework period is from 14:00 to 16:00 each afternoon). The school remains open until 21:00 most evenings, so you have full use of the facilities (computers, WIFI hotspot, DVDs, study area, etc) for over 12 hours a day.

Classes will involve learning Italian grammar and vocabulary, speaking and listening as much as possible, as well as some reading and writing. Our aim is to develop your ability to understand and communicate in Italian, not just to teach you grammar.

Materials

You can choose to to buy a course book to use during your lessons and for homework, or if you prefer to save the money we will lend you one (against a returnable equal to the cost of the book). Your teacher may also give you photocopies of other resources to use during the lessons.

Italian language schools in Bologna

Resources

Our Bologna Italian language school is well-equipped for language learning: each classroom has audio, DVD and video and other learning resources.

There is also a multimedia classroom available for classes or individuals to use. Internet access and educational software is always available.

We have a video library of classic Italian films for you to borrow or watch in the school. There are also Italian books and magazines available.

Diplomas

Our teachers will give you feedback on your progress during the course, and at the end of the course you will receive a diploma certifying the number of hours you have studied with us and the level you have reached.

Costs

24 hours, 1800-2100, Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday (depending on the level), courses start each month (min. 4, max. 10 students in a class).

Cost (including taxes): €240
(See also the DISCOUNTS detailed on our page of Special offers for details of a 20% discount for Erasmus and other exchange students - with the student discount, this course costs only €192!)

Important note: in the event that the class does not have the minimum number of students (4), you will be offered a full refund of your course fee, or the alternative of continuing to study in a smaller group but with a reduced number of hours per day. For example:

4 students 6 hours per week
3 students 5 hours per week
2 students 4 hours per week
1 student 3 hours per week

Studying in a smaller group can be beneficial, even with fewer classroom hours, because you get more personal attention and more time to speak.

To book your place on next month's course, come to the school (we'll be happy to show you around!) or complete our booking form
