Madrelingua is happy to offer a free accommodation-booking service for clients who wish to study Italian in Bologna. There are a range of options for you to choose from: just specify your preference on the Italian course booking form.
Don't forget we need to receive your course/accommodation deposit before we can confirm your accommodation. As soon as we receive your deposit we will confirm your course, and check your accommodation preferences with you (if you have any special requirements, just e-mail Stefania on info@madrelinguaitaliano.com).
Then, at least seven days before the start of your course, we'll send you all the information you need about your accommodation - the address, who to contact, how to get there, and of course, a telephone number for you to call if you get lost!

Staying with an Italian family or with Italian people gives you the opportunity to practise your Italian during your time in Bologna , as well as to experience real life as it is lived by people here.
Host families are carefully chosen by our staff, and live either in the centre of Bologna (walking distance from the school) or within an easy bus-ride (maximum 20 minutes). Homestay prices exclude meals as most students enjoy an active social life and therefore choose to eat out. However, you may use the kitchen if you wish. The price given below includes room, bed linen, towels and the use of the bathroom as well as the use of the kitchen.
| Single room | Shared room per person | |
| 1 week | 120.00 euro | 90.00 euro |
| 2 weeks | 240.00 euro | 180.00 euro |
| 3 weeks | 360.00 euro | 270.00 euro |
| 4 weeks | 480.00 euro | 360.00 euro |
As you can see, homestays are also the most affordable accommodation option and so most suitable for those on a tighter budget. Don't forget though, you'll be sharing someone's home, so before you choose this option, we suggest you read the homestay guidelines we've prepared to help guests and host families get along!
Payment should be made directly to the host family at the beginning of the stay, normally in cash. If you change your plans, you should notify the host family as soon as possible.
If you would prefer the maximium of privacy during your Italian language course, we can arrange for you to stay in a one bedroom or two bedroom flat, normally within walking distance of the school. Flats are all fully furnished and newly renovated.
Flats are obviously a more costly option in the historic center of a famous university city: prices typically start from around €350 to €450 per week.
A variety of two- or three-star hotels offer special terms to our students. These are, of course, all located in the historic center of the city, no more than a few minutes' walk from our Italian language school.
Hotel Prices (2/3 star, including tax)
Of course, we can also book a four or five star hotel for you, if your budget allows it!
The B&Bs offering special terms to our students are also all located very near to the school, or in areas easily reached by public transport (max. 15-20 minutes by bus from school).
B&B Prices (including tax)
Bologna is an important international venue for trade-fairs, which means that at certain times of the year there are large numbers of visitors seeking hotel accommodation. In periods when trade-fairs are being held, it is therefore advisable to book your accommodation at least a month in advance.
Madrelingua does not charge any fee for the accommodation-booking service, nor take any commission from accommodation providers. For this reason we ask that you pay the proprietor directly for your accommodation. For homestays and flats this will normally be at the beginning of each week. For hotels and B&B, at the time you check out.
