Madrelingua Italian Language School: Meet our Team!

Madrelingua is a limited company, wholly owned by Stefi and Daniel, an Italian/English couple who have three children and have lived in Bologna since 1998. The school was only established in 2005 but has rapidly achieved success, and is one of only two schools in Italy which are members of both ASILS (Association of Schools of Italian as a Second Language) and AISLi (Association of Italian Language schools), associations which specify minimum quality standards and inspect potential members before admitting them. As Madrelingua is also recognised by the Emilia Romagna region and has ISO 9001 certification, you can therefore be sure the quality of your course and the administration at our school is second to none.

As the school has grown, Daniel and Stefi have sought out the very best teachers and created a stable, permanent team so that the benefits of our on-going training and growing experience are locked in. Moreover, our policy (with few exceptions) is that "everyone teaches": that way, we eliminate any division between "teachers" and "management" and we all remain close to our students and fully able to understand their needs and problems.

• Stefi - co-owner of Madrelingua. Stefi is the Registrar for Italian courses, and the Accommodation Officer, which means that she organises the groups, takes payments, books accommodation, and deals with requests from students. • Daniel - co-owner of Madrelingua. Daniel is Director of Studies and also does the marketing and other "business" aspects. Not being a native-speaker of Italian, he doesn't teach the language, but is a teacher in Madrelingua's English school.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Lucia - Italian teacher and Assistant Director of Studies. Lucia works with Daniel to manage the work of the Italian teaching team. This involves quality control observations, staff training, level testing, developing materials, and dealing with student problems on a day-to-day basis. • Paola - a full-time Italian teacher with more years of teaching experience than she cares to mention, Paola is a valued all-rounder who delights her students, whoever they are and whatever their particular needs are.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Francesca - a full-time Italian teacher who has taught in Bologna language schools for many years. She is also responsible for the organisation and quality of our Italian evening classes.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Maria - the Registrar for Madrelingua's English courses. As she shares the reception role with Stefi (and others), you'll surely see her around during your Italian course, and if you have a problem, she'll be happy to help you!
